Mixing it Up With Gluten-Free Bread Mixes
The warm wafting aroma of fresh bread baking is one of the most comforting scents in the world. Breadmaking can be an exacting and time-consuming process and gluten-free breadmaking is especially so because of the lack of the gluten protein to give the bread bind and elasticity. I have several times experienced opening my bread machine in anticipation, only to find a lump of dense undercooked gluten-free bread. While a bread machine with agluten-free specific cycle makes the work of gluten-free breadmaking much easier, pre-bought gluten-free bread mixes make the task even less daunting. There is a huge selection of gluten-free bread mixes out there, so we’ve collected a few of the major brands for your benefit.

Breaking the Weight Loss Plateau
With the start of a new year, you’re feeling more motivated than ever to look and feel your best. So you decide it’s finally time to lose those extra pounds. You start by going through your pantry and tossing all the unhealthy, fatty, processed, sugary foods, and then you revamp your diet to include mainly whole grains, lean proteins, fruits and veggies. You also start working out five days a week. And, much to your delight, the pounds start melting off consistently every week.
But then, one week, despite your careful dieting and hard work at the gym, the scale doesn’t budge. You try not to get discouraged, until the following week, when the same thing happens. And the next week, the scale actually goes up a few ounces. Frustration sets in, and your motivation to continue your healthy lifestyle slowly starts to wane.
Sound familiar? Far too many dieters have experienced a similar scenario—what’s known as the much-dreaded weight loss plateau.

August 1, 2012 — The prevalence of celiac disease (CD) in the United States may be more common than originally thought, according to findings from the first large population-based study that sampled people from a variety of ethnic groups.
Among the survey's key findings are that nearly 2 million people have CD, but most of them are unaware of it.

Milk Allergy: Identifying Hidden Milk Ingredients
Milk allergy children cows(HealthCastle.com) If your child has been diagnosed with milk allergy, you have probably been told to avoid all foods containing milk protein. That is not as easy as it sounds, because milk ingredients are not always clearly identified as such on food labels. For help, refer to the table below, from the book Better Baby Food by registered dietitians Daina Kalnins and Joanne Saab. If any of the words below appears on the label or ingredient list, the food contains milk protein and should not be given to your child.
